Celebrity Karaoke 2014 - On February 8th, the atmosphere at the Moon nightclub in Tallahassee, Florida was magical for our 2nd Annual Celebrity Karaoke for K-9's & Kool Kats event.  A cast of local celebrities took time away from their busy schedules to come out and showcase their talent in support of PAL's mission.

Tallahassee's First Lady, Jane Marks along with Marsha Doll - Tallahassee's own southern-style modeling agent and a few of their friends raised the roof off the building performing their rendition of Lady Marmalade.  Legendary Tallahassee TV anchorman Frank Ranicky; radio personalities Jason Taylor from WTNT 94.9fm and Amanda "AJ" Malone from x101.5 along with many more celebrities; including ABC 27 News anchorman Rahman Johnson were also there to support this fantastic event.

All in all, over 200 people showed up and the crowd had a blast!  Rahman Johnson and Justin Varn of Justice Entertainment, also known as DJ Justice were the hosts for the night while the Brown Goose Band provided a variety of musical entertainment for the event.

dog days of summer dog wash

Man-oh-man did those dogs have fun at Tom Brown Park!  The weather was cooperative for our summer dog wash days, and many dogs showed up to get spruced up and cleaned.  After a good bath, our furry friends got the change to enjoy some delicious homemade doggie ice cream and some humans at it too!  Lots of people attended this fun event; including Glenn Bell, a photographer from the Tallahassee Democrat who snapped the following memorable pictures of our dedicated volunteers.  After all was said and done, many happy and clean dogs (and owners) went home to rest!

2012 Condo for canines build

To help raise public awareness, Capital City Lumber, James Kaufman general Contractor, John Wilson Painting, LLC and Brantley Custom Homes partnered with PAL at a unique event to benefit animals and their humans.  Volunteers built "Condos for Canines" at the Tallahassee-Leon Community Animal Service Center (ASC) on May 12.  The doghouses were donated to those unable to afford shelter for their dogs and were distributed by the City's Animal Control Officers to those most in need.  Allowing dogs to stay with their owners.

Having a great time and still being able to help others.......is exactly what our event is all about.  Our goal here at PAL is to do everything in our power to help the animals at the Tallahassee Animal Service Center.

PAL received help from numerous volunteers and is very appreciative of everyone who came out to support the event in a variety of different ways. A special thank you to the event sponsors:  Scott Carlswell, the owner of the Moon for opening his doors to us, X101.5fm, Be the Solution, Tallahassee Democrat, City of Tallahassee, PAWS, Hopping Green & Sams, 94.9TNT.  Bagelheads, Trader Joe's, Costco, Tijuana Flats, Fresh Market, Beef O'Brady's, Metro Deli, El Jalisco and George Clinton's C Kunspyruhzy Studios.

PAL president Bonnie Malloy along with other board members are really grateful that they have the chance to help homeless and needy animals that really need assistance.  This event was a perfect example of what PAL is all about, and we couldn't be happier with what we've accomplished.
